Las Vegas Motel 8 Sale & Transformation.
The southern edge of the Las Vegas Strip sits largely unaltered over the past decade, but that is about to change with the recent sale of Motel 8, which is situated in the shadows of the Mandalay Bay.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the 60’s era motel was purchased by Israeli hoteliers Asher Gabay and Benny Zerah, who are co-founders of the Astral Hotels, operating primarily in Eilat; a seaside tourist city in southern Israel. Their hotels look great and, to the comfort of Motel 8 fans, they appear to be rather affordable as well.
This sale should inject new life in that section of the Strip. If you’re not in one of the hotels in that direct area, most people go to that specific stretch to get their photo taken in front of the famous Las Vegas sign. Having a new resort will definitely have a positive impact on the area.
The new owners found the location appealing as the National Football League’s Las Vegas Raiders will be playing nearby and the National Hockey League’s Vegas Golden Knights play in the T-Mobile Arena, just a couple of blocks north. For the sport fanatic, this new resort could easily be considered a good home base for an awesome sports and gambling road trip.
As this sale is still new, the owners have no comment on future plans, although they have confirmed they will bulldoze the motel and the convenience store to build a new resort-hotel.
Las Vegas continues to grow and evolve. This new resort-hotel will be grand and will offer new and exciting table games for all players.
